Client
Futuristic you say?
Our client was working on a full CG animation, with 4 shots involving a middle east souk.
They received feedback: “Looks cool, but can you futurise it a lot, but not too much?”
Fun thing to do, except they had only a few days before their deadline.
So they called CoCollective to give them a hand.
Within a few days, we delivered.
We aligned on what ‘futuristic’ means and created a few AI concepts. Then we modeled an entire set of props that could be randomized and scattered in their shot. Everything was delivered in the software and renderer of our client (3dsmax / vray), matching all the versions and plugins, so their lead artist just had to click file/merge, and send renders to the farm.
No hassle. All materials are PBR, so they worked in both their day and night shots. All objects are unwrapped, optimized, power of 2 maps, with an ORM setup (occlusion, roughness, metallic).
We also delivered the geometry converted to Vrayproxies
Minimum set of maps, minimum RAM footprint, maximized instancing. Simply efficient assets.
Actually, you can even drop them in unreal, just plug the maps into their slots, and they will look the exact same.
And Voila!
